Maximum Support Sports Bras
Lorna Jane's high impact sports bras are built for running, HIIT and CrossFit, the kind of training where you actually need everything to stay put. These are the bras to reach for when you want our highest support. Most of them let you dial in the fit yourself, so it sits perfectly for you rather than just close enough. Amy Max is the one to start with. She comes in more colours than anything else here, so there'll be one that goes with what's already in your workout wardrobe. Not every session needs this much bra though. If you're after less compression, our all day support bras are worth a look. There's loads more to scroll through in the full sports bra range too.
The Amy Maximum Support Sports Bra gives you three points of adjustability: wide straps, an adjustable band under the bust, and a clasp at the back. You set the straps and the band separately, so the fit isn't locked into whatever your size gives you. It's the most compressive fit we make, cut for full coverage, with bounce reducing power mesh inside and padding you can take out if you'd rather train without it.
On the Easy Zip On, the straps adjust from the front while you're moving, and the keyhole back lets a bit of air through when things heat up. The Lifted is a smaller cut with the same power mesh lining and clasp back. Our maximum support bra guide breaks down each style in full.
A sports bra suited to a larger bust combines full coverage with wide adjustable straps, an adjustable underbust band and a back closure. The band should carry most of the weight from below rather than the shoulder straps, and sit firm without riding up when you lift your arms.
Once it's on, the cups should cover the whole breast, filling it without feeling too tight or having any obvious gaps. The straps should sit firm across your shoulders without digging in or sliding off. Then move around like you actually train, and check the movement stays small and comfortable. If you're not sure where you land on sizing, our sports bra size guide walks you through measuring.
What you're doing changes what you need. Running and jumping pull straight up and down, while tennis and anything with a lot of side steps pulls you sideways.
High impact means a bra made for activities that take you off the ground, like running, jumping, HIIT and CrossFit. Lorna Jane makes three support levels, and maximum support is the highest of them. How much support you need also comes down to breast size and age, not just what you're doing.
A compression sports bra presses the breasts against the chest wall as one unit, usually with fixed straps and no clasp. An encapsulation bra holds each breast in its own cup, with a band and straps you can adjust separately. Most of the bras on this page use a compressive fit, but with adjustable straps, an adjustable band and a closure at the back or front.
Maximum support sports bras can be worn every day if you like a firm, compressive feel. All day support styles are cut with a bit less compression for days you're not training. It comes down to how much hold you want to wear for hours at a time.
A gentle cold machine wash in a garment bag with like colours and a mild detergent is the way to go. Skip the fabric softener and don't soak it. Hang it to dry out of direct sunlight rather than putting it through the dryer. We tailor the washing instructions to suit individual products, so please refer to the label for more detail on how to care for your new LJ.
Removable padding is there on some of the bras here, so you can take it out and put it back. Check the individual product page if that's something you want.
